Pre-assessments – Responding to student readiness

A key aspect of engagement is ensuring all students are challenged in their zone of proximity. As teachers the best way to ensure we are providing the right amount of challenge, is to know where our students are in terms of their readiness and we can do this through pre-assessment.

Pre-assessment can be completed in a range of ways, including formal and informal options. Please see the pdf linked below the diagram for further information and examples of pre-assessments.
