Feedback for Learning

Formative assessment/feedback for learning is one of the most important aspects of learning- both for students and teachers. Feedback for learning should not only provide students with opportunities to demonstrate understanding and skills, but to be active participants in the learning journey of all involved parties. This feedback should be used proactively, by both students and teachers, to inform and determine future decisions and practices.

Areas include:

  • Ongoing timely feedback
  • Checking for understanding
  • Responding to student readiness
  • Using students as resources
  • Students as lead learners
